Patriots Lose to Cyclones, 8-4
|
Alex Landrum was superb against Pawtucket. The left-hander, who finished 4th in the IL in strikeouts with 288 in 2060, had a fastball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Cyclones victory. The score was 8-4. Landrum picked up the win for New York, going 5.1 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 2-0. The win brings the Cyclones to 4-7, an awful start for a team that made the playoffs just last season.
Stefan Jamroz, who finished 4th in the IL in stolen bases with 60 in 2060, aided the New York cause with a 2-run double in the bottom of the second. For the game, the center fielder was 1 for 4 with a double and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Landrum said.
