Cyclones Take Nail-Biter Over Whalers
The New York Cyclones picked up a win at Kennedy Field at Metropolitan Stadium, knocking off the Hartford Whalers, 3-2. Starting pitcher Theodore Stocker was a big reason why. New York is now 65-49, while Hartford is 51-62.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 13th inning, when New York right fielder John McIntyre, facing Dominic Hahl, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Cyclones the 3-2 win.

"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," Stocker said in his postgame press conference.
