Canadians Need Extra Innings to Top Blues, 2-1
|
The Toronto Canadians walked off with a big win.
Windy City pitcher R.C. Bendavid gave the Canadians all they could handle, but in the end, Toronto left Dylan Owens Stadium with a win, 2-1. Bendavid allowed no runs on 3 hits over 6.1 innings. Peyton Gerber, credited with the win in relief, is now 6-3. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1 innings.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Toronto left fielder Cordell Fortunato, facing Tommy Moon, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Canadians the 2-1 win.
"Both teams played hard," said Toronto manager Tom Dingman.
Toronto currently is in last place in the Domestic League Lager Division at 51-59.
