Millers Victors, 6-3, at Philadelphia
|
The Pittsburgh Millers knocked off the Philadelphia Freedom, 6-3, in Domestic League action at Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower Field. Pittsburgh pitcher and Orem, Utah, native J.P. Lovins had an outstanding performance. The Millers, now 9-2, have had a terrific start to the season.
The Millers got a big at-bat from third baseman Aiden Mero. For the game, Mero was 1 for 4 with a triple, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run triple. His 1st triple of the season gave Pittsburgh a 3-1 lead.
"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Mero told the Pittsburgh Daily. "You win just by scoring more runs."
