The Batavia Muckdogs trumped the Los Angeles Sharks, 6-3, at North Shore Dog Park. Batavia first baseman Joey Trinidad was terrific. He went 2 for 3 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The winning pitcher was Logan Clark. He tossed 82 pitches over 5 innings, allowing 3 runs on 5 hits. Gerald Tura recorded his 27th save for Batavia.
Wade Cummins, who finished 3rd in the IL in slugging percentage with .558 in 2063, chipped in a 2-run home run for Batavia in the bottom of the first. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"I'm proud of the way we took care of business and got the 'W' today," Cummins told the Batavia Herald. "Whatever it takes."
Los Angeles has now lost 4 straight.
