Pilots Win at Home, 4-3
|
Though he had a terrific game, Tyreek Nomura could not prevent his team, the Toronto Canadians, from absorbing a loss. Seattle won the game, 4-3. Nomura was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Ron Thomas earned the win for Seattle. He lasted 6 innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 3. With the win, he raised his record to 2-1. The win brings the Pilots to 4-7, an awful start for a team that made the playoffs just last season.
Cory Boivin dealt the Canadians a blow in the bottom of the third. Batting with the bases loaded and Seattle leading 2-0, Boivin, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2066 draft, hit a 2-2 fastball for a 2-run single.
In postgame remarks, Boivin applauded his team's "resolve."
