New Orleans got a strong outing from Spencer Maldonado as the Voodoo defeated the Santo Domingo Rum Runners, 7-2, at Henry Byrd Field. The Voodoo are now 46-49, while the Rum Runners fall to 49-48.

Daemon Sherrow, who is rated as the 82nd best prospect by BNN, came through for New Orleans with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fourth. The left fielder went 2 for 4 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 2 runs and collected 2 runs batted in.

"I was hoping to make good contact," said Sherrow. "I wasn't trying to knock the snot out of it."
