Mjima Rips 2 Home Runs in 4-0 Cyclones Triumph
With designated hitter Jim Mjima leading the charge, the New York Cyclones defeated the Phoenix Roadrunners, 4-0, at Kennedy Field at Metropolitan Stadium. Mjima, who finished 5th in the IL in OPS with .890 in 2061, hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. New York starter Cooper Welsh was credited with the win after throwing 106 pitches over 7 innings. His record now stands at 9-5. The Cyclones saw their win-loss record go to 43-41. At the same time, the Roadrunners fell to 21-63.

With New York leading 2-0 in the bottom of the third, Mjima hit a curveball from Mason Norton for a 2-run home run. It was his 13th home run of the season and put the Cyclones ahead, 4-0.

Mjima called the win "a team effort."
