Harrilchak Runs Hit String to 25 Straight Games
Sunday, August 26th , 2012
The Sacramento River Cats may have proven to be mere mortals as they lost, 2-1, to the Salt Lake Stingers, but Cory Harrilchak continued to hit like a god.
The right fielder collected 1 hit in 4 at-bats in the loss and extended his hitting streak to 25 games.
"Harrilchak is playing great and is on fire right now," River Cats manager Tim Mauser said. "Hopefully his play can spark the rest of our team and help us pick up some wins."
Harrilchak was apparently not happy with the game and when pressed by reporters in the locker room only said "nothing else matters but the loss." Cory Harrilchak grounded out in the 1st, flied out in the 4th, struck out in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
Thus far in 2012, Harrilchak is hitting .290 with 8 home runs, 48 RBIs, 68 runs scored and has compiled a .375 OBP.
