Young Rips Cincinnati for 5 Hits
Sunday, September 16th , 2012
No matter what the Cincinnati Reds threw at him, Delmon Young hit it. He easily handled Reds pitching, going 5 for 5 and helping the Cardinals triumph, 16-9, at Busch Stadium.
"The way I was swinging, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball," he told BNN reporters in the postgame interview.
Told of Young's quip, Reds skipper Darren Dreifort said he "would take him up on that next time."
Delmon Young doubled in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Francis Morel in the 5th and hit an RBI single in the 6th.
Posting a .286 batting average to date, Young has 15 home runs and 64 RBIs.
