Injury Sidelines Shane Hawk for Season Tuesday, July 28th , 2009 Shane Hawk is doubtful to make the playoffs this year, according to sources within the St. Louis organization. Although the injury was initially thought to be not serious, tests have revealed the player will be out up to 13 months with a damaged elbow ligament. The 27-year-old reliever suffered the injury throwing a pitch in a recent game against the Detroit Tigers. So far, Hawk has earned 3 saves in 34 relief appearances. He has 57 strikeouts and 15 walks in 40.2 innings while registering a 2.21 ERA and a 3-2 won-lost record. |
