Blue Jays Drop Orioles, 2-1
|
The Blue Jays faced a stiff challenge from Baltimore pitcher Alex Cobb, but persevered to claim a win at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. The final score was 2-1. Cobb went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. Baltimore, with the loss, is still a robust 5-2.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Conor Jackson? The 29-year old third baseman Jackson stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the 11th inning to put Toronto up, 2-1. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.
"The game of baseball will test you," said Carlos Delgado, the Toronto skipper. "This one tested us."
