Twins Mow Down Red Sox, 9-1
|
The Minnesota Twins thumped the Boston Red Sox, 9-1, at Fenway Park. Allan Dykstra was a big reason his team got the win. Dykstra went 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Minnesota pitcher Derek Cunningham earned the win, hiking his record to 4-2. Mat Latos suffered the loss. Minnesota has run its win streak to 7 consecutive.
With Minnesota leading 1-0 in the top of the first, Dykstra hit a fastball from Mat Latos for a solo home run. It was his 17th home run of the season and put the Twins ahead, 2-0.
"I like how we're playing right now," said Dykstra.
