|
The Chicago White Sox topped the Seattle Mariners, 4-2, with right fielder Vladimir Guerrero playing a big role. Guerrero went 2 for 4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the White Sox in the win. Koji Uehara notched his 3rd save in 3 chances. The win elevated the White Sox to 33-29.
With Chicago leading 1-0 in the top of the third, Guerrero hit a curveball from Jeff D'Amico for a 2-run home run. It was his 14th home run of the season and put the White Sox ahead, 3-0.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Chicago manager Carlton Fisk.
