Mariners Prevail, 6-4, Over New York
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the New York Yankees and Seattle Mariners get after it.
Starting pitcher Nick Green pitched well enough to help the Seattle Mariners beat the New York Yankees, 6-4. Green, now 6-3, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 6, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. Ramiro Ortiz closed it out for his 1st save.
DJ LeMahieu came through for Seattle when he hit a run-scoring single in the bottom of the third. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a two-strike fastball to right field, staking his team to a 1-0 lead.
"I just try to bring what I bring to this team," said LeMahieu.
With the victory, the Mariners record stands at 24-34.
