Vancouver Pins 4-0 Loss on Orioles

The Baltimore Orioles got a sterling performance from pitcher Clayton Richard, but the Vancouver Mounties still prevailed, 4-0. Richard threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball. Vancouver goes to 36-21. The win puts them 2½ games up in their division.
Vancouver used the clutch hitting of Rafael Furcal to snag the win. The designated hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Mounties ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Baltimore skipper Eddie Murray, "and it cost us."
