Bats Fail for Mets in 4-0 Loss
|
The Florida Marlins got a strong performance from pitcher Madison Bumgarner. Mad Bum stymied the New York offense en route to a solid, 4-0 win at Shea Stadium. Brian Wilson finished the game for Florida and earned his 11th save. Florida is 27-26 and New York, with the loss, 27-25.
The Marlins liked what they saw from Bumgarner. The 21-year- old pitcher had a commanding presence on the mound, limiting the Mets to no runs on 5 hits over 8 innings, and striking out 6.
"Felt great, felt really good," said Bumgarner.
