Mets Top Cardinals to Even Record
|
New York pitcher Santiago Casilla had a large part in his team beating the St. Louis Cardinals, 5-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. New York is now 25-25.
New York used a clutch at-bat from Eobanus Miller to capture the win. The right fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Mets ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said New York manager K.P. Paull.
