Braves Win, 5-1, Versus Cardinals
|
Atlanta pitcher Clayton Kershaw did his part in helping his team beat the St. Louis Cardinals, 5-1. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The win puts Atlanta at 29-22 this season.
In the bottom of the first, Atlanta designated hitter Esteban Armelini had a productive at-bat. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and no one out, Armelini stroked a 2-run single to center. It made the score 2-0, Atlanta. For the game, he was 1 for 4. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"We'll savor this win," Armelini told the Atlanta Daily, "then get ready for the next game."
