Phillies Get 7-5 Win Versus Florida
|
Dedicated fans weathered the storm to watch their beloved Phillies beat the Marlins.
The Philadelphia Phillies handed the Florida Marlins a loss at Citizens Bank Park. The final score was 7-5. Major production was provided by Mario Alvarado for Philadelphia. In addition to his 1 single and 1 home run, he scored 2 runs and drove in 2. He also added 1 walk. Picking up the save was Collin McHugh, his 1st.
Henry Wrigley's at-bat in the bottom of the seventh was significant, coming with runners on 1st and 2nd and the game tied, 5-5. The Philadelphia designated hitter hit a run-scoring single off Todd Coffey to put the Phillies up.
"Feels good to get the job done," Alvarado said after the game.
The Phillies saw their win-loss record go to 24-23. At the same time, the Marlins fell to 27-19.
