Blue Jays Edge Past White Sox, 4-3
|
Fans saw a dandy of a game between the Toronto Blue Jays and Chicago White Sox.
The Toronto Blue Jays did just enough to sneak past the Chicago White Sox, 4-3, at U.S. Cellular Field. Toronto pitcher Edgar G Gonzalez, in particular, had a standout performance. Toronto reliever Carlos Marmol picked up the win, upping his record to 1-3. Scott Strickland absorbed the loss. Armando Benitez finished to wrap up his 1st save.
Ramon J Hernandez, the 32-year old catcher , had a direct impact on the outcome. Hernandez contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put Toronto up, 4-3.
"I was a little disappointed," said Chicago manager Carlton Fisk. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
The Blue Jays raised their record to 15-24.
