Toronto Earns 5-4 Win
|
Though he had a stellar game, Aramis Ramirez could not prevent his team, the New York Yankees, from losing, 5-4, to the Toronto Blue Jays. Ramirez went 3-3 with 3 singles and 2 walks. Jonathan Papelbon, credited with the win in relief, is now 2-2. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1 innings. Toronto is now 15-27, while New York is 20-18.
PantaliĆ£o Lima was the walk-off hero for Toronto. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Blue Jays shortstop hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"I was a little disappointed," said New York manager Ellis Burks. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
