5 Straight Wins for Braves
The Atlanta Braves knocked off the St. Louis Cardinals, 5-4, in NL action at Busch Stadium. Atlanta pitcher and Maracaibo, Venezuela, native Jhoulys Chacin had an outstanding performance. Ken Giles closed it out for Atlanta, earning his 6th save. The Braves, at 22-14, have now won 5 straight.

Atlanta used a clutch at-bat from Eric Hosmer to capture the win. The first baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Braves ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

Hosmer called winning a team effort. "It's not the same guy every time," he said. "It's the sum of the parts."
