Fister Now 1-0 After Beating Red Sox
|
The New York Yankees knocked off the Boston Red Sox, 5-2, in AL action at Yankee Stadium. New York pitcher and Merced, California, native Doug Fister had an outstanding performance. Joba Chamberlain nailed down his 1st save. The Yankees, now 3-1, have been playing some good baseball.
In his 92-pitch effort, Fister allowed 2 runs on 5 hits over 8 innings. He walked 0 and struck out 9.
