Orioles Dumped, 4-1, by Anaheim
|
Mario Pena was nothing short of phenomenal for the Anaheim Angels. The 27-year-old left-hander was a big reason his team beat the Baltimore Orioles, 4-1. Pena picked up the win for Anaheim, going 5.1 innings. He gave up no runs on 2 hits. He now sports a record of 2-0. With the win, Anaheim improves its record to 15-13.
Paul Konerko had a big run-scoring double for the Angels in the bottom of the second inning. With Anaheim leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a sinker from 29-year old left-handed pitcher Ray Liotta and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 6th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Angels ahead, 2-0.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Pena said after the game.
