Gonzalez Throttles Toronto, 1-0
|
In a tightly-contested game between the Vancouver Mounties and the Toronto Blue Jays, pitcher Gio Gonzalez was outstanding. The Vancouver left-hander, who finished 3rd in the AL in ERA with 2.96 in 2005, propelled his team's 1-0 win. Vancouver is now 87-73, while Toronto is 62-98.
Gonzalez confounded Toronto hitters. Over 7.2 innings, he allowed no runs on 3 hits.
"Feels good to get the job done," Gonzalez said after the game.
