Blue Jays Defeat Spiders, 9-2
|
Due in large part to third baseman Garin Cecchini, the Toronto Blue Jays sunk the Cleveland Spiders, 9-2. Cecchini went 1 for 1 with a home run. Toronto is now 64-89, Cleveland 81-72.
The Blue Jays got a gift in the bottom of the fifth inning, when they were leading 2-0. With two out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Jacoby Ellsbury reached on an error by the SS, driving in 2 runs. It made the score 4-0, Toronto.
"I put some good swings on the ball," said Cecchini.
