Blue Jays Slap 4-1 Loss on Cleveland
|
Toronto turned a good performance from starting pitcher Chris Sale into a 4-1 triumph over the Cleveland Spiders at Skydome. Sale picked up the win for Toronto, going 5.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 2 hits. He now sports a record of 4-8. The Blue Jays now have a mark of 58-93.
In the bottom of the fifth, Toronto second baseman Jose Altuve had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and two out, Altuve stroked a 2-run single to center. It made the score 3-1, Toronto. For the game, he went 2 for 3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"Baseball is a funny game," said Altuve. "You've got to keep battling until things fall your way."
