Cardinals Knock Off Dodgers at Busch Stadium

Behind the hitting of Elias Hernandez, the St. Louis Cardinals stopped the Los Angeles Dodgers, 8-5. Hernandez was 2 for 4 with a double. He drove in 3 runs for the Cardinals. The win belonged to Sean Gleason in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Tony Cingrani took the loss for Los Angeles. Chris Perez recorded his 20th save for St. Louis.
In the bottom of the seventh, the Cardinals grabbed the lead when Hernandez hit his 4th double of the season. The bases-clearing double off Joe Smith made it 8-5, St. Louis.
"We maximized our offense today," said St. Louis skipper Chris James. "That makes everyone's life easier."
The 4th-place Cardinals hiked their record to 56-88.
