Cubs Down Phillies, 5-4
|
The Chicago Cubs defeated the Philadelphia Phillies, 5-4. Doing his part was first baseman Danny Dorn, who went 3 for 5 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. The Cubs are off to an underwhelming start as they look to defend their championship, notching only their 7th win in 20 games.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the 12th. With two out, Dorn hit a fastball from Justin James for a run-scoring double. The Cubs, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"We need to get rid of the bad mojo," said Dorn. "Maybe this win will help."
