Yankees Decked By Athletics, 10-2
|
Fans were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown New York Yankees take on the Oakland Athletics.
The Oakland Athletics powered past the New York Yankees, 10-2, at Yankee Stadium. Brian Anderson provided some of the pop. He was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 3 times and drove in 3. New York is 8-9 after the loss.
Oakland won the game in part because of Chris Snelling. The first baseman ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Athletics ahead, 3-0. For the game, Snelling had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"Every manager loves to see an offensive outburst from his team," said Oakland skipper Dave Gumpert.
