Downward Spiral Continues for Boston
|
The Florida Marlins converted a terrific effort from starter Kyle Lohse into a win over the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park. The Marlins won the game by a final score of 6-2. In 6 innings, Lohse surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 3. He allowed 2 runs. The losses continue to mount for Boston, which has now dropped 10 in a row.
Florida used a clutch hit from Kyle Seager to get the win. The second baseman drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Marlins ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a doozy.
"Use your eyes, make an adjustment, and be better," said losing manager Deion Sanders. "We need some accountability all the way around. Everybody, top to bottom."
