|
Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Toronto Blue Jays and Cleveland Spiders.
The Toronto Blue Jays beat the Cleveland Spiders, 3-0. Toronto pitcher and Charleston, South Carolina, native Philip Wilson led the way. Wilson got the win, improving to 10-10. He gave up 3 hits and walked 1 over 5 innings. He allowed no runs. Jonathan Papelbon earned the save for Toronto, his 17th of the year.
J D Drew cracked a home run off Kyle Allen in the top of the first. His 2-run blast put the Blue Jays on top, 2-0. In all, Drew had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
Drew told a Toronto News reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
With the win, the Blue Jays improved to 47-81.
