Athletics Triumph, 3-2, in 14 Innings
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Oakland Athletics and the Anaheim Angels, Roy Halladay, who finished 3rd in the AL in wins with 18 in 2010, was the difference-maker. The Oakland right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win in 14 innings. Oakland reliever Justin Hampson got the win, raising his record to 5-3. Craig Breslow was tagged with the loss. Oakland is in third place in the AL West Division with a record of 63-60.
The Athletics got a clutch hit from pinch hitter Franklin Batista. In the bottom of the 14th, he hit a run-scoring single to left-center, to win the game for the Athletics.
Batista said this kind of win gives the team "a buzz."
