Texas got a strong outing from Jake Arrieta as the Rangers defeated the Seattle Mariners, 7-2, at Rangers Ballpark In Arlington. Arrieta, now 8-5, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 4, walking 4, and allowing 1 run. At 56-63, the Rangers claim 4th place in the AL West Division.
Jose Guillen, who is a two-time All-Star, came through for Texas with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fourth. The left fielder was a perfect 3 for 3 in the game, including 1 home run and 2 singles. He scored 1 run and collected 2 RBI.
