Angels Win, 4-2, at Houston
|
Cole Hamels pitched well, but his team, the Houston Astros, still dropped a 4-2 decision to the Anaheim Angels at Minute Maid Park. Alfonso Martinez earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. He upped his record to 2-0. Winston Abreu locked down his 3rd save.
Anaheim used a clutch hit from Isrrael Osorio to get the win. The designated hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Angels ahead, 4-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a doozy.
"I just tried to make good contact," said Osorio.
The Angels, now 9-3, have played inspired baseball.
