Astros Come Up Short at Anaheim, 2-1
|
The Anaheim Angels got a strong performance from pitcher Phil Dumatrait, who stymied the Houston offense en route to a win, 2-1, at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. Winston Abreu recorded his 16th save for Anaheim. Anaheim raised its record to 56-44 with the win.
The Angels got a big at-bat from designated hitter Steve Murphy. For the game, Murphy went 1-2 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 31st home run of the season gave Anaheim a 2-0 lead.
Murphy called the win "a collective effort."
