Home Loss Shrinks Giants Series Lead to 3-1

Leave it to the veteran.
The Houston Astros got a great start from 34-year-old right-hander Fernando Rijo, as Houston took the 3-1 win at Tropicana Field over the series-leading Tampa Bay Giants. Rijo threw 7.1 innings of 2-hit ball and helped Houston close their deficit to 3 games to 1 in the best-of-7 series.
Rijo confounded Tampa Bay hitters. Over 7.1 innings, he allowed 1 run on 2 hits.
"We have a lot of confidence in Fernando," said Houston manager Craig Biggio.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg.
