White Sox Top Orioles, 2-0, Behind Mosebach
|
The Chicago White Sox received a sterling performance from starting pitcher Robert Mosebach, allowing them to shoot down the Baltimore Orioles, 2-0. The White Sox, at 53-42, sit in third place in the AL Central Division.
Mosebach, who has sometimes raised the ire of coaches and teammates with his famously lackadaisical work ethic, turned in a spirited effort. The hurler struck out 2 in 8 innings and gave up no runs.
Mosebach, who is tied for 7th in the AL in complete games with 1, moves to 8-6 on the year with 81 strikeouts.
"Robert kept his poise and got the job done," said Chicago manager Carlton Fisk. "He was outstanding."
