Angels Continue Hot Streak with Extra-Inning Win
|
The Anaheim Angels extended their winning streak.
The Anaheim Angels did just enough to nip the New York Yankees, 4-3, in 18 innings. Anaheim pitcher Jorge De La Rosa, in particular, had a standout performance. Anaheim pitcher Ruben Borguez got the win. He's now 6-5. Juan Aquino was tagged with the loss.
Anaheim took a 4-3 lead on Miguel Valenzuela's 15th home run of the season. The solo home run, which Valenzuela hit in the top of the 18th, left New York pitcher Juan Aquino shaking his head.
"Our guys just had that look of determination," said winning manager Brian Brady.
The first-place Angels now have a record of 60-32.
