Bott Now 11-3 After Beating Marlins
|
In a low-scoring game between the Washington Wizards and the Florida Marlins, pitcher Glenn Bott was the difference-maker. The Washington left-hander was tough as nails in the 2-0 Wizards win. Jeanmar Gomez closed it out for Washington, earning his 1st save. With the win over Florida, the Wizards improved to 51-36.
Bott, who leaned on his fastball, allowed no runs on just 2 hits over 8.2 innings for the Wizards. For the most part, Florida hitters were simply overmatched.
"When Glenn is on, he can really move the ball around," said Washington manager Rich Hinton.
