Brewers Best Cubs, 6-5
|
Though he had a terrific game, Michael Cuddyer could not prevent his team, the Chicago Cubs, from absorbing a loss. Milwaukee won the game, 6-5. Cuddyer was 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles, while scoring 3 times. Getting the save was John Holdzkom, his 1st. Milwaukee is now 36-52, Chicago 39-47.
The Brewers got a big at-bat from designated hitter Jesus Montero. For the game, Montero was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the first, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 14th home run of the season gave Milwaukee a 2-0 lead.
"We need to string a few more wins like this one together," said Montero.
