Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Twins
|
The Minnesota Twins picked up a win at Oriole Park at Camden Yards, knocking off the Baltimore Orioles, 5-4. Starting pitcher Brandon Webb was a big reason why. Minnesota, now 43-43, holds down third place in the AL Central Division.
The outcome might have been different for Minnesota, had it not been for Angelo Benavides, the 26-year old left fielder . Benavides stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put Minnesota up, 5-4. For the game, he was 3 for 5, including 1 double and 2 singles.
"Brandon just went about his business, throwing strikes," said Minnesota manager Lee Mazzilli.
