Brewers Jolt Spiders, 7-5, with Late Rally
|
The Milwaukee Brewers had to overcome a big game from Cleveland left fielder Ryan Ludwick to leave Jacobs Field with a victory. And they did, winning, 7-5. Ludwick went 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. The 'W' lifts Milwaukee's record to 35-51.
Milwaukee used a timely hit from Neftali Soto to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Brewers ahead, 7-5. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.
"Winning is hard sometimes," said Brewers manager Mario Reeves. "This one was nice to get."
