Yankees Drop 5-3 Decision
|
The Boston Red Sox picked up a win at Fenway Park, knocking off the New York Yankees, 5-3. Starting pitcher Josh Johnson played a key role in the triumph. Johnson, now 10-3, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 3, walking 3, and allowing 2 runs. The triumph puts Boston at 47-36 for the season.
Robinson Cano had an important at-bat with one out in the bottom of the fourth, when he hit a 2-run triple. His 2nd triple of the season put Boston on top, 5-1.
"We did a lot of things right," said Cano.
