Anaheim Tops Toronto, 4-1
|
A good performance from second baseman Ian Kinsler helped the Anaheim Angels defeat the Toronto Blue Jays, 4-1. Kinsler was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs for the Angels. Scott Wiggins earned the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. He upped his record to 6-0. At 49-34, Anaheim is in first place in the AL West Division.
Anaheim used the hitting of Victor Cancino to pick up the win. The third baseman clubbed a solo home run in the top of the second inning to put the Angels on top, 2-0. For the game, Cancino had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Cancino told the Anaheim Times.
