Cubs Handed 4-1 Loss by St. Louis
|
The St. Louis Cardinals racked up a win at Busch Stadium, bumping off the Chicago Cubs, 4-1. Chan Ho Park, who started for St. Louis, pitched effectively for his team. The win lifted the St. Louis record to 41-31.
The Cardinals got a big at-bat from left fielder Andre Ethier. For the game, Ethier went 2-3 with 2 doubles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 16th double of the season gave St. Louis a 2-0 lead.
"I thought we played a nice game," Ethier told the St. Louis Bulletin. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
