Cubs Down Dodgers, 5-1
|
Riding the 2-hit performance of the 26-year old first baseman Danny Dorn, the Chicago Cubs defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers, 5-1. The Cubs lead the NL Central Division by 3½ games.
With Chicago leading 1-0 in the top of the fourth, Dorn hit a fastball from Bryan Augenstein for a solo home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Cubs ahead, 2-0.
"I think every team will tell you that the pitching sets the tone, especially the starters," said Chicago skipper Jeff Normore.
