Barstow Right Fielder Nets SL2 Award Monday, July 8th , 2019 Barstow fans have something to crow about today as Barstow right fielder Chris Speed nabbed the Sub League 2 Player of the Week Award for his performance over the last seven days. "I know there are times when it's hard to lay off pitches. Everyone goes through stretches when he's too eager to put the ball in play. You know, though, I feel like this past week I was able to get in the right frame of mind and just let things come naturally," said Speed. He posted a .538 average (7-for-13) this past week with 3 home runs, 7 RBIs, and 6 runs scored. This year Speed has hit at a .326 clip with 59 RBIs, 21 home runs and 70 runs scored. |
