Quintero Socks It to Jarrell 3 Times Sunday, May 5th , 2019 Afton center fielder Salvatore Quintero blasted three homers today at Comets Park in the 15-5 Night Riders victory over the Jarrell Comets. For the game, Salvatore Quintero scored 3 times and knocked in 6 runs. When he hit his last home run, his teammates, hearing the crack of the bat, leaped off the bench and rushed on the field to greet the jubilant Quintero when he reached home plate. "It was just one game, but it sure was a lot of fun -- 3-for-5, three roundtrippers and a win," a gleeful Quintero told BNN reporters in a postgame interview. "What a day." Salvatore Quintero struck out in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Jason Burger in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Wayne Gilyard in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off John Golden in the 6th and struck out in the 7th. For the season Quintero is batting .316 with 31 hits and 9 home runs. He has scored 20 times and batted in 27. |
