Season Done for Schmidt
Saturday, June 28th , 2025
Jimmy Schmidt had to wait several agonizing days to find out his diagnosis after suffering a torn flexor tendon in his elbow on 06/25/2025. Today he received word from the Cleveland doctor that he would be out the rest of the year. Team officials called it a huge setback but something they would have to overcome.
This year, Schmidt has fanned 37 in 45.1 innings and collected a 2-3 record with a 4.17 ERA.

Callahan Shuts Out Fighting Falcons, 6-0

Shamur Callahan of the Vegreville Red Barons really zeroed in on Sudbury hitters at Vegreville Grounds, blanking them, 6-0, on 1 hit. Callahan struck out 4 and gave up 1 walk in defeating the Fighting Falcons.
In 7 starts this season, Callahan has compiled a 5-3 record and a 3.63 ERA.

Season Ends for Gutierrez

The Antioch Argonauts have lost the services of Willie Gutierrez for the rest of this season. He suffered a torn flexor tendon in his elbow in a recent ballgame and the follow-up report from the medical staff is not good. Gutierrez is out for the year.
This season, Gutierrez has a 3-6 mark in 14 starts with a 4.38 ERA. He has given up 76 hits in 78 innings, struck out 62 and issued 19 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .241 batting average against him.
